🏆 gropper76 def. Chubsy · 4&3 · Quarterfinal · Ubsey Golf Par 3 Shootout
Gropper opened with a run of two straight to start fast, and never let go of that early edge over Chubsy in this Winners Quarterfinal at Rumbling Bald on Lake Lure - Apple Valley. The match stayed wire to wire, with Gropper leading throughout, pulling away late to close it out 4&3 after 15 holes. Only 20 percent of pickers saw it coming, making this one of the day's bigger surprises.
Chubsy had chances to chip into the lead, trading holes through a choppy middle stretch that included three halves in a row on the front, but could never climb back on top. Gropper finished strong down the stretch, taking one of the final three holes played with two more halved to seal it. Gropper now advances to the Winners Semifinal, while Chubsy drops to the losers bracket and is still alive in the tournament.
