🗞️ The Weekly Wrap · Week of Oct 4
The biggest shock of the week came in the Winners Round 2, where Bravos99 knocked off TOM70 at the 19th hole in the Ubsey Golf Par 3 Shootout. The pick'em crowd never saw it coming, with zero percent of the picks landing on Bravos99, making this the week's defining upset and the one everyone in the clubhouse will be talking about.
It was not the only time the field got caught flat footed. MDGolfs took down YetiG08 2 up despite drawing zero percent of the pick'em support, and GimmeG's 4&3 win over IdaGolf came with just 14 percent of bettors on board. On the other end, chalk ruled plenty of matches too. Beezy0902 rolled past LeftSticks 6&5 with 95 percent of the picks behind him, and scotty4611 handled EbelKinebel 3&2 at 85 percent. TheSingingGolfer and Taylorstour each posted shutout pick'em support, both sitting at 100 percent, with TheSingingGolfer topping Dunndeal1020 6&5 and Taylorstour outlasting gbburn at the 19th hole.
Down in the Losers Round 1, Havi beat Forehybridgolf 3&1 as a heavy underdog, just 6 percent of the picks going his way. The Ubsey Golf Par 3 Shootout remains a crowded bracket, with 61 players still alive out of 64 entrants, and none of this week's dozen results ended in an elimination.
In the season long pick'em race, Triple Bogey still sits atop the standings with 755 points and a 69-51 record, holding off MD Golfs at 690 points and The1TopDawg at 650. With 203 picks made across the league this week, the race for bragging rights stays tight.
Looking ahead, the Winners Round 2 slate is stacked. Monday brings DarylDoylson vs CrushGolf and ZonaEJ83 vs Justthebible1611, while Tuesday features Gropper vs LeftyMurph and trplbgy vs TBURKE. Wednesday has basigman12 vs GimmeG, and Sunday closes the week with Pmart vs ChrisGolf. Scotty4611 vs toursauce86 and Beezy0902 vs czxzt are still finding a time.
