Verified research
From the MSS study: what the sensor measures, what it costs to run, and what it needs from the room.
Bright 4K laser workhorse for premium ceiling-mounted sim bays where image quality leads.
Why people buy
5,000 ANSI lumens powers bright impact-screen images
4K UHD laser with 20,000-hr life, zero lamp swaps
0.94-1.14:1 short throw fits behind most hitting areas
Lens shift (V+/-50, H+/-20) + 1.2x zoom eases mounting
Trade-offs
No published input lag figure, verify sim responsiveness
33 dB normal-mode fan is audible in quiet rooms
H shift collapses to ~0 once V shift is used
$3,799 is steep vs 1080p golf-sim staples
The fine print
LG publishes no input lag spec for the BU53RG, confirm gaming-mode latency before buying for sim play. LG's own pages also disagree on laser life (20,000 hrs global spec vs 15,000 hrs US spec table).Specifications
