Verified research
From the MSS study: what the sensor measures, what it costs to run, and what it needs from the room.
Bright 24/7-rated laser for commercial sim bays, if you can live with the fixed lens.
Why people buy
5,000 ISO lumens powers impact screens in bright rooms
0.58:1 short throw: 100-inch image from ~3.3 ft
30,000-hr sealed laser rated for 24/7 operation
WUXGA 1920x1200 plus HDR10/HLG support
Trade-offs
No published input lag, unverified for sim responsiveness
Fixed lens, no zoom: throw distance must be exact
Tiny lens shift (10% V one-way, +/-4% H)
36 dB normal-mode fan is audible in a quiet bay
The fine print
Fixed lens with only 10% one-way V / +/-4% H shift, mount position is locked by the 0.58:1 throw math. Optoma publishes no input lag figure; confirm responsiveness before relying on it for sim play.Specifications
